Based in Burgess Hill, we specialise in installing, servicing and repairing
all makes and models of domestic gas boilers. We are fully qualified and registered
gas engineers (Gas Safe Registration Number
532583) and we are fully insured.
Operating on a high referral basis, much of our business is through
recommendations from our customers. Whether you have a small leak or
need major central heating work, we are happy to offer
our expertise.
If you're thinking of replacing your boiler, have an emergency or
need of any other plumbing services call
or email and we will
arrange a visit to advise.
We are not VAT registered allowing us to pass on those savings to
our customers. This is reflected in the prices we quote, resulting
in savings for you. Those savings can be significant, especially if
you are replacing your boiler.
We work with all types of Central Heating.
We are members of Ideal and Baxi's Installer program and as such can
offer extended warranties of up to 12 years on their boilers
We are happy to quote for a complete new system including pipe work,
or component parts, such as a replacement boiler, new radiators, hot
water cylinder etc. We can also quote for a change from a traditional
gravity fed system to a sealed system with a combi boiler.
Remember, we are not VAT registered, which means we pass on those
savings to you. We make no money on the boiler, we only charge for our
time and expertise, so we are happy for you to source and purchase your
own boiler. We'll still advise on the make and model of boiler and get
you a quote from our local supplier. If you can get a better price elsewhere,
online for example, our supplier will usually try to price match. All you
need to do is contact them and arrange payment and to have the boiler delivered. In
an emergency we can even collect the boiler for you. Using our local
supplier means that any problems, although rare, can be rectified quickly
and efficiently. However, we are equally happy for you to source the boiler
boiler yourself.
If you have a problem with your current central heating, whether with the boiler,
a radiator, or heating controls, call
or email and we will
arrange a visit to advise.
We have experience installing, servicing and repairing all major makes of boilers
We are members of Ideal and Baxi's Installer program and as such can
offer extended warantees of up to 12 years on their boilers
Based on experience, we carry spare parts prone
to failure for boilers that are popular in our area. We can usually
source other parts within 24 hours.
On some older boilers new parts may no longer be available, so we
can often find old stock. If you are looking
to replace a boiler soon anyway, this can be a practical solution
in the short term.
We install most makes of smart heating controls, either those produced by boiler manufacturers or popular third party products.
We can either fit them to an existing boiler or install them as part
of a new boiler or central heating system however you will not get the
full benefits of smart heating controls with an old boiler.
Smart heating controls will give you a room thermostat that can be
programmed via a smart app on your phone or tablet. Some have a web
portal too so that they can be programmed from your laptop. Once
connected you have full control at your fingertips where ever you are.
Most smart heating controls will also connect to Amazon's Alexa or Googles
Voice assistant. Some will also connect to Apple's Siri meaning that you
can control your heating with voice commands.
Some smart heating controls also offer optional Smart Radiator Thermostats
giving you even more control over individual rooms.
You will be able to set a separate schedule for each room and set / boost
individual temperatures to suit your needs.
Some Smart Heating Controls are part of a larger family of connected
devices, such as smart plugs and cameras, others support IFTT - a web
platform that gets your smart devices to work together.
A Gas Safety Certificate is a report on the gas installation and the
appliances tested in an annual gas safety check.
Also known in the trade as a CP12, Gas Safety Certificates are a legal
requirement in the UK for rented properties. All landlords and owners of commercial premises
need to maintain an up-to-date Gas Safety Certificate and have their
gas appliances serviced regularly to make sure that they are working
efficiently and safely. You will also need a Gas Safety Certificate
if you are moving house to prove that the gas appliances in your house
are safe to use.
Gas Safety Certificates are valid for a period of 12 months and must
be renewed in order to prove that the gas appliances, pipework, chimneys
and flues are still safe to use, along with any new additions installed
since the last check. Only a Gas Safe registered engineer can carry out
these checks and issue the proper certification.
We would normally service the boiler at the same time as carrying out
the checks and charge around £70, although this could be more depending
on the number of appliances and whether other appliances need servicing.
A System Flush, or Power Flush is a cleansing process which aims to
remove deposits of sludge, rust and any other debris from your central heating system.
These contaminants, if left, can seriously affect the efficiency of a
heating system and, in severe cases, flushing the system could be the only
option available. Over time the water in your pipes, boiler and radiators
deposit unwanted by-products like rust. This rust (plus other dirt and
debris) becomes a mud like sludge.
Sludge in your heating system can cause blockages and corrosion
which will lead to both inefficiency and/or breakdown. In extreme
cases it can be so damaging that a complete boiler replacement is
needed.
There are 2 methods to flushing a central heating system, a power flush
and a system flush. We recommend a system flush which is
far less aggressive than a power flush. It works by circulating
chemicals around the system using the system's own pump. It can be carried
out on traditional, gravity fed systems, or sealed systems.
We use the less aggressive System Flush method, using a system called
MagnaClense,
produced by the engineering firm Adey.
If you carry out regular servicing and maintenance and you have a magnetic
filter installed on your system, then flushing the system is rarely needed.
A magnetic filter is a device which must be installed with new boilers.
It usually sits near the boiler and pump and works by collecting magnetic
particles that are circulating in the system. When you have the system
serviced, the filer is cleaned to remove any particles or debris that have
collected, reducing the need for a system flush.
If you are planning to replace your boiler we would always carry out a
System Flush before installation ensuring that contaminants that may
damage your new boiler are removed from the system first. As part of a
new boiler installation, we would always fit a magnetic filter to the
system to continually collect any other magnetic particles that dislodge
over time, preventing damage to the boiler and possible blockages.
There are signs to look out for that suggest that all is not well in your central heating system.
If any of these problems sound familiar, contact us by phone or email and we’ll come out and advise on what action to take. While a System Flush may be all that is required to get your heating back on track, unfortunately it’s not always that simple. A system may be so damaged that it is actually cheaper to replace rather than repair, but we will advise accordingly.
It’s not all doom and gloom; there are lots of positive reasons for a System Flush.
We come along and connect the equipment to your system. Chemicals are
added and the system is run to circulate the chemicals around the system.
The powerful chemicals will dislodge particles that have collected in
the system as the hot water circulates and the equipment that we connect
removes these particles from the system. The chemicals remain in the
system during the cleaning process. The whole process usually takes a
couple of hours, but could take longer depending on the size, age and
condition of the system.
Once the cleaning process is complete, the system is drained and the
chemicals flushed and removed from the system. We would recommend the
instalation of a magnetic filter to the system and the addition of an
inhibitor chemical that helps to prevent rust in the pipes, radiators
and boiler.
Although a System Flush is far less aggressive than a Power Flush, it
is still possible that the process uncovers other problems that were
never going to be fixed by flushing the system. But we will thoroughly
check out the system afterwards and advise if any additional works are
necessary. We can usually order and install any parts that are required
quickly and the system will work far more efficiently afterwards.
We are experienced in all types of domestic plumbing and provide our clients with excellent customer service.
If you have a plumbing problem whether leaking pipes, radiators, or
taps or maybe you want a radiator relocating or removing temporarily
while you decorate, call
or email us and we will
arrange a visit to advise.
If you’re planning to give your bathroom a complete makeover then we
can help.
We can remove your old bathroom and move any plumbing that may be required
for your new bathroom suite, ready for your tiler or decorator to prepare
walls and floors and your electrician to carry out any electrcal works,
for instance new lighting or wiring required for a new electric shower,
power pump, heated bathroom cabinet etc.
We will then come back in and fit your new bathroom suite, tub, basin,
wc, shower etc. We work closely with other trades to ensure that the
whole process runs smothly. We can either work with your own tradesmen
or organise tilers and electricians for you.
If you need an emergency plumber, give us a call. Whether your gas central
heating has stopped working, you have a water leak or burst pipe we can help.
We are authorised members of Gas Safe, so if you have a gas leak we
can both find the leak and carry out repairs. If you smell gas you
should first turn off the gas at the gas meter and call National Grid
on Call 0800 111 999 24 hours a day. They will come out and disconnect
your gas supply if there is a gas leak.
After calling National Grid, you should also phone
us as soon as possible. Because we are local, we may get there quicker,
find the cause of the gas leak and carry out any repairs without the need to
disconnect your gas. If National Grid have disconnected your gas before
we arrive, after identifying the leak and carrying out repairs, we can
re-connect your gas and test the system.
